A Paradigm of Healthy Living

Introduction

Silbury House stands as a beacon of wellbeing, nestled within a haven of green spaces, public transport, and retail options, all within a 0.5-mile radius. This location fosters physical activity and social interaction, enhancing the overall wellbeing of its occupants.

Health-Centric Policies

The project's commitment to health is evident in its tobacco and smoke-free policy, ensuring a clean environment. The continuous 'RESET' air quality monitoring is a testament to the dedication to maintain healthy air standards year-round.

Eco-Friendly Practices

Conscious choices extend to the selection of cleaning materials, adhering to strict toxicity standards. Additionally, the building boasts separate ventilation for areas containing chemicals, prioritising air quality and occupant health.

Accessibility for All

Silbury House is designed with inclusivity in mind. Features like universally accessible water bottle filling stations, a step-free entrance, and strategically placed lifts cater to individuals with limited mobility, ensuring everyone can navigate the space with ease.

Safety First

The safety of occupants is paramount, reflected in well-lit outdoor areas, pathways, and bicycle sheds. The inclusion of AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) on every floor and on-site certified first responders underscores this commitment.

Supporting Families

The project goes the extra mile for parents by providing a private, lockable lactation room, equipped with a sink and comfortable furnishings, facilitating both pumping and breastfeeding.

Healthy Lifestyle Encouragement

In alignment with a holistic approach to health, no traditional vending machines are present on-site. Instead, catering adheres to a Fitwel-stipulated healthy food and beverage policy. This is complemented by signage in common areas promoting healthy choices and an on-site garden offering fresh herbs for meals.

Integration of RESET and Fitwel

The project strategically uses RESET to achieve Fitwel credits, harmonising indoor air quality standards with health-focused measures like non-smoking policies, asbestos-free environments, and the use of green-labelled chemicals.
